SOUTH AFRICA DENIES VISA FOR DALAI LAMA - FOR THE THIRD TIME.

Dalai Lama had a visa denied for South Africa, for the third time.

In fact, the Apartheid has not yet finished - not at all. Lama had been invited to attend the 14th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Cape Town, next month.

It is widely believed that the reason the Dalai Lama has been denied visas to the country is because of South Africa’s relations with China.

Let's be honest: China is the new colonial master to South Africa!

A religious man is a real threat to billions of communists!

Brazil's Population Reaches 202.7 Million

Photo: Fortaleza (my hometown).

Brazil's population reached 202.7 million last July, according to IBGE.

Sao Paulo remains the most populous state in Brazil, with 44 million inhabitants. Minas is the second, with 20.7 million, followed by Rio, with 16.6 million.

In the cities, the logic is repeated: São Paulo, with 11.9 million, followed by Rio, with 6.5 million, then Brasilia, with 6.9 million, and my hometown (Fortaleza), with 2.6 million,

Yes, we are actually a big country, but we must be - also, and mainly - a more just/fair place to live in.

May God help us all.

PRIESTS CARRY OUT MASS TO PRAY FOR RAINS IN BRAZIL

Well, here we are! Back to writings! Yes, I should be more frequent (to say the least) to all thousands and thousands of readers to this Blog of mine. Anyway, have a look (above) at what happens in Brazil when rain is not falling down - by no means!

I confess: it is not wrong to pray for rains - not at all! Yet, I must suggest politicians to take other basic steps to prevent population from suffering from shortage of water.

What about digging - just like above, for example!?

FIFA WORLD FOOTBALL CUP 2014 IN BRAZIL

This is short note to say that 65% of brazilians do not wish this Cup to happen.

Over 15 billion US Dolars should be spent on this Cup in Brazil, which is entirely unacceptable. We do not have enough hospitals, good roads, good public schools, social welfare etc.

There will certainly be riots and people all over the country protesting against this stupid Cup.

Beware! Dot not come to Brazil during June and July 2014. It is NOT safe at all.

HELP ME TO HELP CHRISTIANS IN PAKISTAN!

"Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness" (2 Corinthians 9.10).

I wish to thank - here and now - all my financial supporters! They are just a few, but very faithful indeed. The donations have made me possible to help three entities in Fortaleza City, northern Brazil, and another orphanage in Pakistan.

Over one year, our Ministry has been sending donations to a christian orphanage in Pakistan.. You can imagine how hard it is to be a christian in a country (Pakistan) where our sisters and brothers are literally executed (shot dead or exploded) by radical muslins(!!!).  Also, you can imagine how hard it is for us to receive donations on brazilian currency (reais R$) convert them into USDollars and send them all over to Pakistan!

Read the report on this link and think it over (then help!) http://www.rferl.org/content/pakistan-peshawar-explosion-deaths/25113786.html This tragedy happened last September-2013. We are weekly in touch with our brethren in Pakistan. From time to time, we preach to the orphanage via SKYPE. We preach in English and it is translated it into Urdu, language spoken in Pakistan.

Will you help us? You can send us donation via PAYPAL or credit cards. Please inform us of your donation, so we might include your name on our daily list of prayers.

It is very, very easy to be a believer in Christ in a country where there is liberty. Think about sisters and brothers on those countries (like Pakistan) where liberty is still a dream!

Awaiting to hear from you soonest. God bless you and family, today and ever!

"Let my supplication come before You: deliver me according to your word" (Psalm 119.70).

Usually, we request much more than we thank God for the things we have. We require, request, claim and shout out for more. Yet, we fail to thank God for what we are and - very importantly - for what we have until today.

We all have lots and lots of wishes to fulfill. Some are legitimate; some are not. Heavens have been bombed  by supplications, which might be heard and attended according to the willingness of God.

The point is this: supplications must be directed to the right person (Jesus of Nazareth) and not to any other intermediate person and/or thing. It is of utmost importance to know the word of God (Bible). Much more than just "getting to know the Bible", is to live it into actions which please God. Supplications made to the wrong person will not have a positive response - never, ever!

Deliverances happen every single day. God is faithful and takes care of his flock-people.

Let's say simple prayer: God, I thank you for another day in my life. Thanks for all deliverances. Protect my family and I, today and ever. Oh, very important: remember and take care of all my friends, even those who have forgotten me. Amen.

"Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone; the new has come" (2 Cor 5.17)

At times, we are centered in ourselves, in our high and self-conceit, in our arrogance. At times, we keep exclusively criticising others, without even acknowledging the virtues & values on them. We fail  to see the talents on people around us. This happens very often, indeed.

At times,we are focused on materialism; on money which usually extinguishes our spirituality. I feel, deep inside, that Shakespeare was wrong when he said: to be or not to be! That is not the point, at all, in my understanding! The world looks at us with a staggering question: to have or not to have!?

1. One might claim to be christian; yet not to live like one;
2. One might claim to be christian; yet keep "living" in the past;
3. One might claim to be christian; yet act like a gentile.

If, indeed, anyone is joined to Christ, then:

1. The past-life is just a mere reference; the present time actually matters;
2. The feeling of  "ever-missing" should not dictate the life of today;
3. The future is just around the corner! Let's all act and run, while there is time.

People say that a real tragedy anyone might face is not - repeat is not to age, to get older. The real tragedy is to "age the mind", hence a lot of bad and sad things start happening....

I must put an end to this text! Thus, let me remind my dear reader: join Christ while there is time enough for you. Needless to say the world is divided: before Christ and after Christ. Yet, you may be united here and now, to the ruler of the universe: Jesus Christ.

"As for me, I am poor and needy, yet the Lord takes thought and plans for me" (Psalm 40.17a).

Verily, since the creation of the earth, money was created by the mankind, in many ways, and colours, and values, for the good and/or for the bad of all.

The truth is the money is nothing but a "creation". The values stated on the paper and/or in the coin, are accepted by all, without hesitation. The same paper produces a 10 dollar-bill or even a 100 dollar-bill. Again: the paper is the same; the values are not!

Our own relationship with the money "says" much about ourselves. Jesus declared that we must give to Ceasar what belongs to him and give to Jesus what belongs to Him.

I know a bunch of rich people here in town. All they have is this: money; but not principles, but not moral, but not values - a real shame! Indeed, we ought to know who is the Lord in our own lives!

In the Bible, believers were mostly poor people; yet extremely rich in goodness, in principles, in moral, in sharing love with one another. In fact, it is of utmost importance to be and not to have!

On my own, I am still a poor and needy soul. The Lord takes thought and plans for me, always.

Nobody can serve two masters: God and money!

"Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded" (James 4.8).

We have reached April 8th, 2013. Only today I had time to do this posting.

Most people think that God is always ready to protect us from anything. This is not true, at all.

After all, He is love, but also justice. His holiness does not tolerate sinfulness. The opportunities for our conversion are present everywhere - but who actually wishes a real change? For sure, better it is to keep thinking that He is always there and here, for He loves us all.

The word is extremely clear: we must come near to God, so that He might come near to us. This action requires a purification of mind and heart - and hands. Double-minded people will face difficulties in receiving blessings from Almighty. Well, so what to do, pastor? Try this:

1. Acknowldge yourself as a sinner (a big one!);
2. Cry out for the forgiveness of your sins;
3. Purify your heart and hands;
4. Make a "deal": start changing today, right now;
5. Come near to God, while there is time enough.

After this "five-step operation", you should start a new life, for you are a new creature.

April-2013 is moving onwards... Come near to God!

Oh no, it hurts me so
Just the same old thing
Just the same old thing
No matter how much love you try to bring
Its just the same old thing

Black Keys
At this very moment, 22h30, local brazilian time, thousands and thousands of young people are taking part at Lollapalloza 2013, in the city of Sao Paulo, southeast of Brazil. It is another rock-festival, written this way, all by myself, and I have reasons why:

1. I don't think rock is a "constructive style of music"; but a "desconstructive one";
2. Almost all lyrics are extremely poor - I say it again: extremely poor lyrics;
3. Most people do not actually understand what it is being sung, at all;
4. Drugs, of all kinds, will be undoubtedly present - as usual;
5. Within 9 month-time, we shall certainly have "babies", if you know what I mean...

In short, as the lyrics above clearly declare: it is just the same old thing.

"He who comes from God listens to God's words. You, however, are not from God, and that is why you will not listen" (John 8.47).

When asked, we usually reply that we are from God. This would mean that over 6.7 billion people would be sons of God. Yet, this is not true, at all. There are people who practice more animalistic actions than a rhino in a chinese porcelaine's shop...!!!

Jesus confronted the religious intolerance of the "men of God" of his time. Religious creatures jealous and ignorant to realise the Old Testament being fulfilled before their very own eyes. Jesus did another reading of the more than 685 commandments of the Old Testament, and summed up all in a single and deep statement: "Love God above all and your neighbour as yourself". It was awesome! This simple way of interpreting the Scriptures was unacceptable to the "templars".

Nowadays, many read the Bible; not all understand it; and even fewer actually put the words into practice.

As christians, we have a literature (Bible). Every single action of ours should be based upon the fundamentals of the apostles, and hence from the words of God, through the Scriptures. Heresies come when anyone tries to "invent-create" doctrines which are not, I say it again, which are not within the Scriptures! Watch out!

As a teacher (poor man of myself!), I am aware of the different interpretations of the Scriptures. However, the essence is the same: salvation only through Jesus Christ. (Acts 4.12). This is real christianity.

Easter coming next week-end. Say prayers of thanksgiving! This may be your last time - who knows!?

Photo: normal rural life at medieval times.

"Everything is permissible - but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible - but not everything is constructive.Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others (1 Co 10.23-24).

Since the beginning of the church, christians have been seen as "strange - almost weird people". The truth is that some communities, too much radical, have forbidden their members to live a decent life, to try new things, to behave like normal citizens. Worse of all: some leaders say that all the "Nos" come from God!

Paul, the old apostle did not forbid everything. The opposite: he said that everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial or constructive. The big question is: how do I get to know whether what I do is "permissible or not"!?  Try acting like this:

1. Pray before any action. Search the will of God;
2. Read the Bible;
3. In your case, what do you think Jesus would do?;
4. Morally speaking, your actions to be taken do not "hurt" the word of God?;
5. Would you "testify" to the whole world that your actions are godly?

If the answers to these five questions is a big sounding "Yes", then do it!

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me" (John 14.1).

It is said that depression is at alarming levels. It would be the third disease that affects humanity. Children, youth, adults and the elderly brothers - no age group is out of this disease.

In my pastoral experience of almost 20 years, I have helped (tried, come on!) many, and I am happy to see good results. I have no ready recipes, but here's what I recommend, in brief:

Spiritual help
Open your heart to someone you trust (pastor, priest, psychologist etc). Take therapies. Try to be active, seeing people, talking to people, exercising your right to come and go. Do not isolate yourself, ever. Concomitantly, read the Bible, which has a message from God to your heart.

Medical help
If the alternative above does not work out the desired effect, it's time you go to a psychiatrist who can prescribe correct drugs. Do not be afraid! The professional will know how to dose it so you do not become dependent for the rest of your life. Do not be prejudiced against the psychiatrist! There are cases where only, repeat, only the chemical can solve, and it comes from God, who gave intelligence and gifts to men.

Remember, life is short and beautiful. God wants the best for you!

Photo: mission to Pacoti City, a mountain place 125km away from Fortaleza. I am playing tambourine.

"My dear friend, do not be surprised at the painful test you are suffering, as though something unusual were happening to you" (1 Peter 4.12).

We usually welcome surprises! Some are good; others are bad enough to make us all feel blue - if not depressed. At these times, we usually ask: why me? what have I done so sinfully? why not another person? why, why and why!? Our capacity to make questions is very big, indeed. Yet, the answers "are not born in the wind", as the song says. They are brought by means of a  broader understanding that even the "suffering" can make us a little better, that is, we can take something good out of something bad.

The verse above says that any painful test is not something unusual. Painful tests happen almost every day in our lives. We must stay closer to God and his Son Jesus Christ, in order to endure the day-to-day activities. Therefore, as the Bible says: if you suffer because you are a Christian, don't be ashamed of it, but thank God that you bear Christ's name.

Hum, still sad? Try this:

1. Pray  now;
2. Read the Bible;
3. Take a walk to a nice, calm place;
4. Call a real friend and tallk to him/her.

May peace be with all of you who belong to Christ.

"My son, do not walk in the way with them; restrain your foot from their path" (Prov. 1.15)

The world got smaller now with lots and lots of informative devices. You can travel without leaving your very own chair, at any time! This is good and bad: good because the "real world" comes unto our eyes quicker and we may check whether our dreams correpond to the reality; or not. Bad because we face too much information, hence it is extremely difficult to locate the truth among falseness.

The society compels us to "walk with them" and be "politically correct". Verily, I say unto you: do not be (politically correct), but biblically based, in case you are a christian. Do not, ever, never, be afraid of going against all injustice, all imorality, all filthy things caused, produced and defended by the present society.

Yes: restrain your foot from being "politically correct". Show the world who you really are: a true born christian!

If you have some time, write me a few lines, saying how this Blog affects you.

God bless you and your family, today and ever.

Labour not to be rich: cease from your own wisdom" (Prov. 23.4)

We understand that the "ceasing" refers to a course and path which is not laid out by God.

Verily, we live in a material world. Day after day, we are bombed by midia to purchase more and more; to achieve different levels of confort (or luxury?), etc. Without perceiving, we are led into temptations, led into turmoils, led into circumstances entirely beyond our own strenght and efforts. We must watch carefully; otherwise we might fall into pieces.

Riches make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle towards Heaven. Riches are temporary. Do not set your eyes on such, but set your eyes on the Lord.

A place to live in peace; some food (yes, quality is important); some garment; some transportation; some real friends - apart from family members. Life should be simple!

Habemus Papam - Francisco I

The white smoke finally came out from Rome, and brought us a new pope: Francisco I, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. In fact, this is the very first time a pope comes out from Latin America.

Jorge Mario Bergoglio (76), now named Francisco I, is a jesuit, archbishop in Buenos Aires.

On his first speech (speaking in Italian, with a strong argentine accent), he begged for the blessing of the crowd, before he was able to give them (the crowd) his own blessing Urbi et Orbi (from Rome to the world). This was a humble gesture, quickly perceived by all.

The new pope will face a lot of spiritual and administrative battles...

May Francisco I have a long life!

"A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold" (Prov. 22.1)"

Vatican has been trying, since yesterday, to find a pope. Two elections have been held, but no name  yet.

More elections to come today, until a  pope comes up, with a "white smoke".

What has the world to do about it? Many things:

1. There are over 1.4 billions of christians in the planet;
2. Over 800 millions are catholics;
3. Vatican is, at the same time, a church and a State (country);

Vatican (and christianism) has an extremely big influence over all, I said all religions.

We should realize that any country wishes to have good relationship with the Vatican - and the pope, mainly.

Let's all watch and rejoice on this big party: choosing of a pope, a tradition which remains over two thousand years, and more to come!

"A wise man will hear and increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels".

Photo: view from Fortaleza Port - northeastern Brazil.

In fact, a wise person will always be with ears and heart open to the new, to the "adding of something useful", to the whisperings of the Holy Spirit, in case she/she is a true christian. The wise does not hold any "chronos", that ie, he is not actually attained to ages. He is not too concerned about growing older and older, for this is a natural consequence of being human. That simple!

Yet, I hear a reader asking me: how to be wise in amidst of such a hard time? Frankly, I do not have "ready-answers". Nevertheless, I thing to have some experiences out of my 51 years of age:

1. Hear it all; filter it all. Hold firm to the good things (and persons) you consider;
2. Hear it all; filter it all. Do your best in everything. This brings a true meaning for life;
3. Hear it all; filter it all. Endeavour for the better. Search until you find it;
4. Hear it all; filter it all. Do not take it for granted first time. Delve further into it;
5. Hear it all; filter it all. Give thanks to the Lord, in everything.

Wisdom is a little flower which grows inside of each one of us, and it comes up to the surface through our actions - not only words.

Be wise! Glory to God!
